3rd Writing Assignment

I think I am an optimistic person, but I don't know why I am optimistc and how others can be optimistic. Actually, I have not thought about how to be optimistic and worried . And however I got angry or sad or disappointed, I will forget it after I sleep.

When I'm faced with adversity or potential setback, I often think nothing about my attitude, optimistic or pessimistic. I try not to give up even in severe situation unconsciously, but I don't mind if I give up. In Leading At The Edge, the author wrote "say to yourself" or "self-talk," but I always don't mind my attitude. I think people tend to worry about their attitude too much, that's not "optimistic."

However, I think that being confident is very important to be optimistic. "Effective leaders are able to look at adversity and see the opportunity"(51) I think the sentence says confident leaders think there is still something they can do even in severe situation, and they won't give up. Another important thing is not being absorbed everything. If you fail something, you should forget it and think about next.

Being confident keep me touch with reality because I beleave I can do something if I'm confident. And making our team confident is important to instill optimism in my group. I assign jobs my peer do and try to keep them confident

  1. Hey Kohei, I feel the same way that being confident is really important to maintain optimism. I think such confidence can help one to get through difficult situation, because he or she can believe in himself/herself. I think such confidence also give other members a sence of comfort too, as others would know that their leader can lead them in the right direction!

I agree with you that forgetting the past is also important in order to move forward, although it is sometimes very hard for me to make it into practice. Sleeping does help a lot for me too, so I guess sleeping is one good strategy to let go of guilt and move on!!

Many of what you have written I felt the same way, so it was nice reading your article!! Thanks for sharing!
